Elvis & Kresse is a UK-based luxury brand founded in 2005 by Kresse Wesling and James "Elvis" Henrit, dedicated to transforming waste materials into high-quality fashion accessories. Their journey began with rescuing decommissioned fire hoses from London's fire brigades, repurposing them into durable products like bags and belts, thereby diverting over 300 tonnes of material from landfills. In 2017, they partnered with the Burberry Foundation to address the global issue of leather waste, aiming to repurpose at least 120 tonnes of leather off-cuts into new luxury items over five years. Central to their ethos is the "rescue, transform, donate" model: they rescue discarded materials, transform them into luxury goods, and donate 50% of profits to charities associated with the reclaimed resources. This commitment to sustainability and social responsibility has earned them recognition, including the Best For The World: Changemakers list in 2018 and the FUTURE ICONS Award for Environmental Impact in Fashion in 2024.
