In the northern part of the Philippines local artisan weavers in La Union were struggling to keep their traditional craft alive. Like our work with indigenous tribes of the southern Philippines preserving & perpetuating ancient cultures is of utmost importance so they don't disappear. In collaboration with bespoke brand WVN KINdom sourced robes made of handwoven "inabel" textiles in the softest of cotton jacquards sent them to our indigenous T'Boli embroiderers in the south for their handcrafted magic and voila! The KINdom x WVN "Maya" lounge jacket is born out of loving hands of La Union weavers and T'Boli indigenous embroiderers. No two are exactly alike.
But make no mistake it's not only for sipping tea at home on crisp mornings or lounging around by a pool in style but meant to be layered over a top and jeans to elevate a casual look with a skirt & blouse as an office conversational piece or with a minidress and heels for date night.
