This very special limited edition piece is from A Perfect Nomad's partnership with THE HIGHLAND SUPPORT PROJECT in Guatemala. A non profit organisation supporting indigenous communities and preserving their heritage and ancient crafts.
Inspired by the Mayan culture and using only natural raw elements the Essence is a statement making kaftan. Designed to be worn over bare skin or swimwear barefoot on the beach or to a party with heels. Featuring heavy tassled details to the front and ultra low back.
The thread for this piece has been woven on a traditional foot loom an ancient art and process that took artist Don Rudy 4 days to weave for each kaftan.
The fabric was naturally died using a mix of botanical plants to create this rich earthy hue. One of the main ingredients in the dye is the bark of the plantain tree.
