Woven using an old world cotton fibre that is rain fed and grows naturally without the use of pesticides this Kala Cotton Duster weighing around 400gms is ideal to take on your travels and showcases the best of sustainability and craft.
Design Details
Grown in Central India Kala Cotton is cultivated in limited quantities making it a rare and valued crop. Its fibers are handspun on an ambar charkha resulting in a yarn that is voluminous raw and richly textured. The fabric much like the yarn itself is brought to life through cultural motifs that reflect deep-rooted traditions.
Woven in West Bengal the yarns are first sized and then carefully warped to match the intended design. Staying true to our zero-waste philosophy this free-size Duster is crafted without any material waste.
Handmade in small batches by artisans from Glocal Weavers each Tassel Duster is a unique creation.

Hand wash gently using mild detergent and lukewarm water. Lay flat to dry and store folded (you can use the compact cloth bag that we send with your order to store away your Cape safely). Iron on cotton setting.
