Persephone is a vibrant statement-making summer dress. It features a tangerine silk balconette bodice attached to a flowing off-white bias-cut skirt.
An elegant dress to be worn to dinner on a balmy summer evening or for a special vacation.
Adjustable straps. Fully lined.
Made in London.
Fabric & Sustainability
Composition: Bodice: 100% silk.
Silk is a biodegradable natural fabric though it's worth noting that traditional silk production kills silkworms.
Skirt: 100% bamboo.
This fabric is made from organic bamboo fibres two-to-three years old from sustainably-managed forests (FSC certified). It's processed in a closed loop system meaning chemicals used to treat the fibres are reused. Bamboo fibres are beneficial for their breathable and naturally antibacterial qualities.
Lining: 60% Bemberg ™ cupro and 40% viscose.
Bemberg™ cupro is made from discarded cotton linters a pre-consumer material which is a byproduct of the manufacturing process of cottonseed oil.
Viscose is a plant-based silk - it's sourced from wood pulp. Please note that in order to smooth the wood pulp fibres chemical intervention is used in the production process.
Production:
Manufactured at a North London-based small-batch production studio. The pieces are made in studio by their talented seamstresses and cutters.
It takes five hours to cut and sew just one of our pieces.
Packaging: Our products are shipped in 100% compostable mailers which are both home and commercially compostable once the shipping labels have been removed. Our stickers are printed on recycled paper.
