Sophie Kid Knit Knitting Pattern

Skall Studio knitting pattern for our classic Sophie knit for CHILDREN. (OBS this is NOT including yarn) 
We have a soft spot for mini versions of Skall clothing. Our children should also have the chance to wear the cozy warm knits we love so much. One day our friend Lotte showed us a children’s version of the Sophie knit that her mother had made for her daughter. It was such a sweet personal take on the original. We couldn’t resist! We were inspired to create and launch the pattern in children’s sizes.
SIZES 2-4 (4-6) 6-8 years
½ CHEST CIRCUMFERENCE 35 (40) 43 cm
LENGTH MEASURED AT CENTER BACK INCLUDING RIBBING 40 (44) 48 cm
RECOMMENDED NEEDLES Circular needles 3.5 and 4 mm 80 cm length or double-pointed needles if not using the Magic Loop technique. Cable needle.
GAUGE 18 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm in seed stitch on 4 mm needles.
Please note that needle sizes are guidelines. If you knit tighter than the gauge use larger needles; if you knit looser use smaller needles.
YARN Håndværksgarn 400 (400) 500 g (200 meters = 100 g) from Hjelholt Spinning Mill.
CONSTRUCTION
The sweater is worked top-down. First the back is worked to the beginning of the armholes. Then stitches are picked up along each shoulder and the front is worked from here. The neckline is shaped and the front is joined. Sleeve stitches are picked up along each armhole and worked in the round. Finally stitches are picked up along the neckline and worked in ribbing.
Right and left sides refer to the sweater’s right and left sides.
