Why buy organic-cotton sweatshirts ?
Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers and from non-GM seed, and GOTS certification also sets limits on the chemicals used in dyeing and finishing and on working conditions. For sweatshirts, hoodies and jumpers, cotton is usually knitted into loopback or brushed fleece, which is warm and soft while staying breathable, or into finer knits for jumpers and turtlenecks. Heavier fabrics hold their shape and last longer. Wash inside out at 30 degrees and dry flat or on a line to avoid shrinking and pilling.
